Multiple GRA openings are available in the Laboratory of Transport Phenomena for Advanced Technologies at Virginia Tech. The desired starting time is Spring 2023. The positions are for Ph.D. students interested in computational fluid dynamics, nanoscale transport phenomena, or molecular and interfacial phenomena. Projects supporting these positions include particulate transport in aero engines, interfacial processes in thermal fluid sciences, and nanotribology.

Prior experiences in computational work (CFD or molecular dynamics) and programing skills are valued. While students are expected to enroll in the Mechanical Engineering department or Engineering Mechanics program, those with other backgrounds such as physics and chemical engineering are also welcome. For the CFD-related project, US citizenship is required. If interested, send your resume and transcript (in one PDF file) to Prof. Qiao .
